Tim Curran
Tim
Curran is currently seeded 6th for the 2000 WCT (World Championship
Tour). This
is a huge step up from his 1999's finish at 28th. Tim is one of the most
promising surfers moving up through the system. He is expected to take on the
role of
world champion within the next few years. He is a force to reckon with in competition, but
remains one of the most well liked amongst the tour members. Hailing from Oxnard, CA (USA)
Tim is one of the most popular upcoming hot surfers. At 5'9" this goofy foot rider
will be able to prove his surfing talents to the world for his 4th year on the
WCT. His greatest victory so far was at the Japan Pro 1999 where he won the title! This
title was a great victory because it marked the first time a California surfer has taken
home a title in almost
two years. Growing up in Temecula, CA with his family made it
difficult for Tim to get in some prime water time. At age 5 his father started driving 1
hour to the beach every weekend and
teaching Tim how to surf by giving him a board and
saying go for it. This dedication led him to a love for surfing and a successful career.
